Client List Update/Possible DS Commissions

Said this earlier on twitter, but I'll say it again! The client listings page has been updated completely to include all the Quick Sketches taken a few weeks ago!

As well I've been slowly updating the individuals still waiting for their pieces... and it looks like I'm only five sketches behind being caught up as far as preliminary workload goes!

Which is good because I've been thinking about taking commissions again- necessities of course. Le sigh...
Recently I came into posession of a new Nintendo 3DS thanks to a friend! With this amazing gift came the other amazing gift of Colours Live! This program is amazing!
...
Amazing!

I was thinking of offering a Quick Colour tier involving a second tier. A little cheaper? Maybe? (the hand cramps after a while....)  I'm not sure. I'll work out the kinks. The DS has been a great portable sketchbook and a wonderful asset, so I'd love to make it work more for me and you guys!

Blahblah blah.
Anyways! I'll post a photo update of sketches soon!

Whirlpool Workload

Just wanted to show you guys I'm alive and working! Wheatley is putting me through intensive whirlpools of art. (Herp derp) There are still a couple redraws that I need to do, but for the most part I'm going to keep pressing onward.

See. I met my goal with this Iron-Artist style method, but the end of the month is nigh, and that means.

Mo' Bills.

Hence the whirlpool there!

Also it keeps the tedium at bay on my desktop. It'll be fun to see how big it gets when I add to my workload. And I'll be working from the inside out (Hence the colours inside. Those pieces have had preliminary colour blocking done)

The To-Do pile.

Got around to scanning the first batch of Quick sketches! Looks like... ten so far! Whew!
And that's including a couple from the previous list! There would be one more, but I decided to redraw that one.

It's been a stressful week already, but there's no choice but to keep moving forward!

These are ready for colour lovin'! And I'm still going to continue sketching more.

E'err day I'm Sketchin'!

PS: My background rotates and currently it's on a shot from the Prince of Persia game... in case you couldn't tell!

Sketch Commission Progress shots

Catching up on my work after being put out for a week! Apparently my twitter feed hasn't been uploading my progress shots correctly so I'm throwing them up here!

Badges: Just about ready for preorders!

One of the things holding me back on the shipping of these was first finding the right slips to put the cards in, and then figuring out how to make the holes in them for the badge clips. Proper hole punches are still a bit out of my price range, HOWEVER;

I've utilized black magic SCIENCE to solve this problem! So I've got these all ready to go, minus their shipping containers! So they just need their cozy homes and they can be off!

Once these first ones go out, I'll be doing badge orders by 5- since that's how the mailers come. I think that will keep it manageable.

Commission Additions next week: Art Cards/Badges!

Last weekend I went to a local convention called Fur- Eh! Normally I do only sketch commissions, but late in the game I decided to to badges and Art Cards. I normally stay away from badge work. I confess I'm terrible with shipping and I don't want to bring anything home I can't finish right away. However, these are fun, and the folks love badges! So starting next week I'll be retooling my rates, and T.O.S. and offerings to include/compensate for these traditional items!

Excited? I'm pretty excited!

Blog URL change

"Omegacommissions.blogspot.com" is now "artofomega.blogspot.com"

Because I figured "Omegacommissions" might be too clunky to write.

Carry on!

What have I been up to?

Well the short version is:
A lot.

Mostly offline stuff, however. Nothing that needs to be heavily explained, but enough to be mentioned that it's kept me away from the computer.

And since my return, there's been a need to make fresh funds. My attempted plan for this was streaming for two hours three times a week! It worked when I could manage it. Stream a bit, take some quick commissions, and then work on the larger projects in the down time.

But then, you know, life happens. Also I fell into my terrible habit of biting off more than I could chew.
Such is life!

This week I'm going to put stronger focus on the larger projects.
I also fell out of the updating habit, so I'll change that!  Stay tuned.

Man Live (Update)

Hello guys! It's been a long road to recovery from the holidays, hasn't it?

So my activity's dropped as in productive-ness... Several reasons.

The Holidays:
Who doesn't get jumbled around at least a little bit?

Software Switch:
Finally *finally* got art programs for my personal Mac! I'd been using my wife's PC for art that had Sai(line art) and Photoshop (colour).
I got a copy of Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro. Photoshop is Photoshop, but Sketchbook Pro was the program that most resembled Sai in terms of line art, so I had to spend some time getting used to the finer nuances and work flow of the program.

Drawing Fun:
I confess, I've been drawing a LOT of things for myself and generally taking time for myself. Why? Because it's fun. It's fun to break out a piece of paper or open a new blank document and say "yes I'd like to see this because it's what I'd like!" and make it happen.

Clears the head, makes what I do feel less like work, keeps practice up, and ultimatley makes the output for you all much better.

I've just gotten carried away I suppose. It's time to come back in and get back to work in earnest. Now I'm fresh and creative and ready to tackle the world so.

Bring it on.

State of Things

Whew! Things have been busy since my last post! The group image went well in selling and ALL the spots have been filled! I was pleasantly surprised and floored.
I've a great deal done so far, but nothing to show as of yet, otherwise I'd be prepped with screenshots and the like!

I was helping my wife with her book project last week--which we pulled off on a tight deadline! The book is a gift for the client's family, so it's nothing major, still, we did good work. After that, we needed a bit of a break.

Otherwise, work is slow as we've had a difficult time getting back into the flow. We had a few emergency instances with our kitten, which ended very well! She's doing quite well. Otherwise, it's a matter of attempting to train her into sleeping at night so we can ;0; Also, I'm fighting of some kind of sickness, so I've had to take it easy.

But no more! I do feel better and I have a deadline to make! So I will certainly update you all proper within the next few days!

Ciao!

Here and There. Potential Sale?

Wednesday was a bit slow by comparison to Monday. I got the line art well started for Laocorn's commission--I don't think that image is even safe to crop! ;) -- and some thumbnailing done for Karmakat's commission. Compositional issues need figuring, but I have a solid idea.

Also, more colour work was done on Raijin's piece. It's coming along!

Otherwise I'm chipping through some art blockage that developed over the weekend. I must do some warm up sketches/exercises before I proceed.

Yukiko (kitten!) has well settled in, and has a habit of wanting to see what daddy's up to if she's in my lap and I'm working! A curious one, but she's a good kitty.

Contemplating a sketch sale! Keeping it simple. $5 busts perhaps? We'll see. Stay tuned!

Anywho, I must be away!

Adorable Delay

So the other thing I mentioned that could/would delay me this week was this adorable thing;

A good friend of ours was having breakfast this morning with her husband, when this woman came into the cafe in tears. In her arms was this poor thing, nearly dead and frozen that she had found in a snowbank. She asked if anyone could help, no one else but our friend spoke up. Our friend took in this kitty, warmed it up, fed it as best she could, managed to get it into a vet for a once over (clean bill of health!) and considering our friend already had two older cats of her own, was asking anyone with experience if they could take in this adorable thing.

We answered the call. Or rather, we made our desire known! Think of that kid in the class that raises their hand going "ohohohohohoho! me ME. PICK ME." My wife has experience in raising kitties from three days old.

We couldn't get this sweet little girl home fast enough.

So she's doing well, we all adore her and her wobbly ness, and she's already showing signs of 'tude. Kitten Watch 2011 is in full swing as our new Mom and Dad Cat status is in effect.

I've got another mouth to feed now, so I'll be working on commissions when I can! In the mean time, we've got to think of a name!

Sketches Friday

So I think Friday is my official sketches day. We ended up going out and that's about all I can afford to do (time wise)

There's still one more loose end for the day before I can finish up what I need to finish up and answer e-mails, but... Yes.

Slight Delays

I missed my day to post sketches (properly anyway) due to needing some info from people. Today is Friday which means more werk-- But the wife may want to have a day out (Happy wife = Happy life!)

Either way my morning is delayed because this :
Err'day I'm sho-ve-lin'!

(every few hours, more like.)

I'll post the other sketch I have completed after I've done that. Then see what my day is like.

Official Call for Business/Work Schedule

All right! Now that I've put in a day of hardwork (with more to come) I'm ready to make this official:

I am OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

You want art? I do art! Get my art!
I NEED to rack up the money by next week. I have my medical exam for my permanent residency application to do so I've gotta rack up the money. (it's about $350, by the way--stupid I know, but I did do my homework )

SO. If you can't buy yourself, then PLEASE spread the word!

Work Schedule:
I've decided that, officially, I work Monday, Wednesday, Friday unless otherwise updated here. Times are inconsistent from day to day. But this is so I don't burn out, but get productive during the week--and perhaps weekend.

So! There you have it guys! Thanks for reading!

Changes and Updates

All right kids. I'm happy with this so I've made updates!

NOTE: The tabs above! Each with their helpful points if interest. Notably Consider:

THE NEW RATES:
Yes, I've updated my prices based off of how much work I've been putting into commissions lately (alot ;0;)
I love you guys, I really do. So prices will always remain negotiable, but I do have to make money since this is my only source of income currently.

Fear not! I've also Added new commission categories!
Icons, Busts and Colour Bust are now avaliable on a regular basis.

I have more categories planned for the future, based off of some of my other work that will allow for more flexibility, but for now, this is what I'm working with!

NEW CONTACT FORM
I've made a Google docs form for easy handling. It goes straight to me for relatively easy organizing. Please use it wisely ;D

YES: Most of the content I have is anthro-related. I don't mind. I'd just also like to expand officially! So really throw me an idea. ANY IDEA, and I'd love to see what I can do!

No that wasn't part of the update, but... yeah. Anyways.

ALSO: I should have a mobile viewing option. It doesn't match my current theme, but you can still have me in your pocket! Isn't that nice? It's nice. It's warm in here. Put your change away.

So you should also be able to subscribe to my feeds so you can easily keep track of my updates of all sorts!

Really, it's just all awesome.

So enough chit chat. Time to get to work, hmm?
