State of Things

Whew! Things have been busy since my last post! The group image went well in selling and ALL the spots have been filled! I was pleasantly surprised and floored.
I've a great deal done so far, but nothing to show as of yet, otherwise I'd be prepped with screenshots and the like!

I was helping my wife with her book project last week--which we pulled off on a tight deadline! The book is a gift for the client's family, so it's nothing major, still, we did good work. After that, we needed a bit of a break.

Otherwise, work is slow as we've had a difficult time getting back into the flow. We had a few emergency instances with our kitten, which ended very well! She's doing quite well. Otherwise, it's a matter of attempting to train her into sleeping at night so we can ;0; Also, I'm fighting of some kind of sickness, so I've had to take it easy.

But no more! I do feel better and I have a deadline to make! So I will certainly update you all proper within the next few days!

Here and There. Potential Sale?

Wednesday was a bit slow by comparison to Monday. I got the line art well started for Laocorn's commission--I don't think that image is even safe to crop! ;) -- and some thumbnailing done for Karmakat's commission. Compositional issues need figuring, but I have a solid idea.

Also, more colour work was done on Raijin's piece. It's coming along!

Otherwise I'm chipping through some art blockage that developed over the weekend. I must do some warm up sketches/exercises before I proceed.

Yukiko (kitten!) has well settled in, and has a habit of wanting to see what daddy's up to if she's in my lap and I'm working! A curious one, but she's a good kitty.

Contemplating a sketch sale! Keeping it simple. $5 busts perhaps? We'll see. Stay tuned!

This is much further along (shading and final detailing! also some edits here and there) but to post screengrabs of those now would just be silly! The background on this (colour scheme wise) was really giving me a tough time. I think I'm happy with it though.

Adorable Delay

So the other thing I mentioned that could/would delay me this week was this adorable thing;

A good friend of ours was having breakfast this morning with her husband, when this woman came into the cafe in tears. In her arms was this poor thing, nearly dead and frozen that she had found in a snowbank. She asked if anyone could help, no one else but our friend spoke up. Our friend took in this kitty, warmed it up, fed it as best she could, managed to get it into a vet for a once over (clean bill of health!) and considering our friend already had two older cats of her own, was asking anyone with experience if they could take in this adorable thing.

We answered the call. Or rather, we made our desire known! Think of that kid in the class that raises their hand going "ohohohohohoho! me ME. PICK ME." My wife has experience in raising kitties from three days old.

We couldn't get this sweet little girl home fast enough.

So she's doing well, we all adore her and her wobbly ness, and she's already showing signs of 'tude. Kitten Watch 2011 is in full swing as our new Mom and Dad Cat status is in effect.

I've got another mouth to feed now, so I'll be working on commissions when I can! In the mean time, we've got to think of a name!

Sketches Friday

So I think Friday is my official sketches day. We ended up going out and that's about all I can afford to do (time wise)

There's still one more loose end for the day before I can finish up what I need to finish up and answer e-mails, but... Yes.

Light as Air

Now that my horrific incident of shoveling is over (for now--sob sob) here's the sketch I promised.

Is cute, yes? I think so.
I'll scan properly when I'm able. It seems we're going to get my wife a winter coat today!

Slight Delays

I missed my day to post sketches (properly anyway) due to needing some info from people. Today is Friday which means more werk-- But the wife may want to have a day out (Happy wife = Happy life!)

Either way my morning is delayed because this :
Err'day I'm sho-ve-lin'!

I'll post the other sketch I have completed after I've done that. Then see what my day is like.

Official Call for Business/Work Schedule

All right! Now that I've put in a day of hardwork (with more to come) I'm ready to make this official:

Work Schedule:
I've decided that, officially, I work Monday, Wednesday, Friday unless otherwise updated here. Times are inconsistent from day to day. But this is so I don't burn out, but get productive during the week--and perhaps weekend.

Krhainos again! Spent the afternoon on this getting it ready for base colouring proper because I figured the armor was going to be a problem.
But it wasn't really. Practice makes perfect!

And by all logic I know the Cortana should be in blue but... I was already halfway through when I realized my habit worked against me! Whoops!

Yes, I've updated my prices based off of how much work I've been putting into commissions lately (alot ;0;)

New HQ

Hello All! Some folks may wonder why I"m here? Well truthfully maintaining the site had gotten a bit cumbersome and would often go neglected. Here I have a fair bit of customization, along with a much simpler interface I can use to keep you easily updated all in one place. I have other art blogs, but here is SPECIFICALLY for commissions! Notes, news, updates, WIPS, sale announcements, etc-- All here! Once I get this ball rolling, I'll include a handy dandy list on the right hand side for you guys to easily access it all.
